Keene Place

Keeneland is located on a portion of land that once was the Keene family’s Keeneland Stud Farm. The Keeneland Association founders, led by legendary horseman Hal Price Headley, purchased nearly 150 acres of the Keeneland Stud property in August 1935 from heir John Oliver “Jack” Keene, with the goal of building a model racetrack.

The 5,300-square-foot Keene Place can accommodate 125 guests for cocktail receptions, fewer during race meets because of parking restrictions. Seated events can handle a maximum of 50.

Rental fees are $1,500 Friday and Saturday evenings, $1,000 Sunday through Thursday evenings and $750 for morning events. The upstairs board room, which accommodates 20, rents for $400 during live race meets, $350 at other times.
