The Breeders’ Futurity was inaugurated at the Kentucky Association track in Lexington in 1910 and was renewed every year thereafter through 1930. In 1931-1933, the race was shifted to Latonia in northern Kentucky. The Futurity was revived at Keeneland in the fall of 1938. From 1943-1945, the Futurity was renewed as a part of the Churchill Downs fall meetings. Lane’s End farm near Versailles, Ky., became the sponsor of the race in 1997.
