Keeneland sales graduates flashed their classic potential this weekend, establishing themselves among the early contenders for the 2012 Kentucky Derby (G1) and Kentucky Oaks (G1). Keeneland September Yearling Sale alumni Mr. Bowling, Z Dager and Shared Property finished 1-2-3 in the Grade 3 Lecomte at Fair Grounds, while Midnight Transfer, a graduate of the 2011 April Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, won the San Pedro at Santa Anita. |

Havre de Grace was named 2011 Horse of the Year and champion older female at last night’s 41st annual Eclipse Awards ceremony, marking the fourth time in five years that a Keeneland September Yearling Sale graduate has earned Horse of the Year honors, following Zenyatta (2010) and Curlin (2007 and 2008). |
