Carnacks Choice displayed his affinity for Keeneland’s main track Wednesday with a half-length victory in the $61,000 Brushwood Purse.
The 5-year-old son of Carson City won for the third time in four starts on the surface, carrying jockey Garrett Gomez the six furlongs in 1:10.28. He earned $36,580 for owner Larry Richardson’s Sassafras Racing.
Knights Cross finished second, two lengths in front of third-place Amazing Results in the field of six 4-year-olds and upward. It was a nose back to fourth-place Godolphin Gray.
Carnacks Choice won for the fifth time in 22 career starts and increased his career earnings to $264,905. Greg Foley trains the winner, who paid $6 as the second choice.
