Vinery Stables and Fox Hill Farm’s Friesan Fire confirmed his status as a top contender with a seven-length win in the Louisiana Derby (G2) at Fair Grounds. The A.P. Indy colt was consigned to the 2007 September Yearling Sale by Vinery Ltd.
Pioneerof the Nile won Saturday’s San Felipe Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita. The colt was purchased by Zayat Stables for $290,000 at the 2007 September Sale. He was consigned by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent.
Win Willy upset early Derby favorite Old Fashioned to win the Rebel Stakes (G2) at Oaklawn. A son of Monarchos, Win Willy was consigned to the 2007 September Sale by Eaton Sales, agent for Overbrook Farm, and purchased for $25,000 by owner Jer-Mar Stables LLC.
Eric Fein and Vic Carlson’s Musket Man won the Tampa Bay Derby (G3) at Tampa Bay Downs. Carson bought the Yonaguska colt for $15,000 from Hidden Brook, agent, at the 2007 September Sale.
Just Jenda, a three-year-old filly by Menifee, captured Oaklawn’s Honeybee Stakes (G3) for owner Cindy Jones and husband/trainer Larry Jones. Just Jenda was offered for sale by Longfield Farm, agent, at the 2007 September Sale.
